In today’s society, there is growing awareness that effective learning should suit the individual.
At Heath Kirby Tutoring, “Learning made personal” is our tagline.
We have worked with clients diagnosed with ADHD, autism and neurodiverse clients.
To help continue in our work to support students with special education needs, we invest into understanding the
research, people and organisations driving positive change in learning for clients with special education needs.
The specific learning disorders include:
ONE. Dyslexia: reading difficulties
TWO. Dysgraphia: writing difficulties and challenges putting thoughts into writing or drawing.
THREE. Dyscalculia – maths difficulties, including struggling with concepts, numbers and reasoning.
FOUR. Auditory processing disorder: difficulty processing sounds.
FIVE. Language processing disorder: challenges processing spoken language and attaching meaning to sound groups
that form words, sentences and stories.
SIX. Nonverbal learning disabilities present challenges around understanding nonverbal behaviour or social cues.
SEVEN. Visual perceptual/visual motor deficit. Challenges around poor hand-eye communication, often loses their place while reading and difficulty with pencils, crayongs, glue, scissors and other fine motor activities.
