A great presenter, fantastic game changer, and one of the very best skilled lecturer who really can create a fun loving learning environment among students. Indeed, Heath made most fascinating experience of Strategic Management through creating course modules interesting, authentic and electrifying.Heath is very sceptical in his discussions, debates and exploration and potentially Heath spreed the importance of being humble and nimble amongst students through his excellent first mover style. Moreover, Heath takes accountability to his work and can go extra mileage when it’s come to do something innovative and remarkable. Dr Heath taught me 2 subjects where the first one was ‘Strategic Management.’ He personally taught me as a workshop lecturer and also guided our group personally during the entire subject tenure including amidst our assignments such as the Simulation for the subject and the Board report for the same. Similarly he also helped to proved advice outside the classroom to discuss on how the corporate life is and how it is going to change in the upcoming years alongside the necessary skill sets for jobs in general and specific too. Personally I feel that Dr Heath is an incredible asset to any organisation of which he is a part of. I wish him good luck for all his future endeavours.
After a year of Master of Engineering Management at the University of Melbourne. I would particularly like to thank Mr Heath Kirby for the quality of his teaching throughout the second semester. The subject of Strategic Management was taught with passion and allowed me to develop a lot of skills. The courses are dynamic, allowing us to develop a real knowledge of business and corporate strategy. I particularly appreciated the variety of knowledge taught as well as the enthusiasm of the teacher throughout the semester. The Capsim simulation as well as the lectures and workshops were particularly interesting.
On a personal level, it is through this teaching and the many examples given by Mr Heath Kirby that the desire to become a business consultant appeared to me. I would like to thank him very much for this and recommend Mr Heath Kirby without hesitation.
Heath is a fantastic professor who skillfully combined real-world business knowledge with academic frameworks. I had the pleasure of learning from Heath in the final semester of my Master’s program where he taught Global Strategy. Heath consistently gave exceptionally detailed feedback to my teammates and me on all of our assignments. Sometimes business classes tend to over-focus on academia but Heath ensured all our efforts were industry-focused and applicable. He also set up a friendly and collaborative environment even with our small class size. Couldn’t recommend Heath more as a professor and professional mentor.I took the Strategic Management coursework with Dr. Heath leading my workshop. Interactive sessions were focused and allowed for students to contribute their knowledge and questions on the material discussed. The examples in the workshop were usually situations taking place in the current corporate environment. It gave students the chance to understand how multiple theories on strategic decision making could be used to examine and prepare for our own decisions in the business simulation. He was consistently available outside of the classroom to help explain topics and theories. I highly recommend taking this course that he will be leading at the start of Semester 2, 2022.
Dr Heath is my instructor at Semester 1, 2022 at The University of Melbourne Strategic Management postgraduate class Workshop. I really enjoy having the tutorial with him.His teaching features are interesting, inspiring and interactive. He always encourages students to express their own opinions. In the class, many real life case studies were used to promote students’ understanding of strategic management theory. And also many novel tools (such as Miro and Padlet) to assist teaching and promote real-time interaction with students. Strategic management is one of my favourite subjects during my master degree. I find this subject equips me with lots of solid, practical theory(Porters’ generic strategy,blue ocean, diversification, sustainable strategy,non-profit and so on) on strategic decision making which will definitely benefit a lot for my future career.
Heath was my tutor for Managing for Competitive Advantage at the University of Melbourne and he is one the best tutors across my university degree. He is passionate about what he is teaching and tries to engage all students in class discussions. He is definitely knowledgeable about the topics and passes on that knowledge to students in an effective manner. He also constantly tries to get the class to think critically and have meaningful discussions. It was my pleasure to have Heath as my tutor and I highly recommend him.

I was taught by Heath in my final semester in a Business degree at Monash University. He was one of the most dedicated, down to earth, insightful tutors I had during my education at Monash. His ability to engage a group of adults who really didn’t want to be working at 9am in the morning was incredible. I highly recommend him for anyone studying business especially strategy as his ability to bring real world issues into education is very insightful and helped prepare me for the real world outside of university. I hope our paths cross again either in the business world or in higher education.

Heath was one of the best tutors that I came across in my university studies. He was truely passionate about Business Strategy & it came across in every class. He managed to actively engage all students in every tutorial and was happy to go above and beyond to help us understand the content as well as application in the “real” world. Only few people were lucky enough to be taught by Heath at Monash. His method was ‘ridiculously effective’. I had the pleasure of being taught by Heath during my last semester at Monash and i could say that i was very impressed and satisfied by Heath method of teaching, his ability to get student on board with the topic, the way he challenges our way of thinking yet, making sure that we are all on the same page through brainstorm and collective thinking. Its always a pleasure to come to his Monday tutorial!
